I don’t know if ya’ll ever listened to the Adam Carolla radio show out of L.A. It was pretty f’n tight. Then the corporate man along with the Jonas Brothers and Brittney Spears decide that humorous, thoughtful, and intelligent conversation wasn’t any important. So naturally CBS radio, being what might ultimately be called money hungry for the few, replaced some quality programming with another f’n top 40 station, what ever that shit is. The point is… expose yourself to something that might have substance. I do not nor can I say f top 40, that is some fun stuff to listen to while bumpin’ and grindin’ courtesy of the same dude who pees on 15 year old girls, and tapes it. Go to iTunes and check out some podcasts. Namely “The Point Is…” and “The Adam Carolla Podcast.” “The Point is…” is actually the brain child of myself and my good buddy over at alexgut.com. One TC will be joining us at some point. I feel these casts, these ground level, REAL words have REAL substance . Just listen. Subscribe. Think with an open mind and use the open dialogue to communicate with our peers, our fellow humans. Be respectful too. Thank you.

i can go on and on routing people and things.. telling you what’s better than sliced bread. though, the best is when people rout themselves.. knowing that in some great or miniscule sense, their life is effed. welcome to fmlife.com.

then people can vote either “I agree, your life is f***ed” or “You deserved that one.” the best ones are a land slide in either direction

“Today, I was watching a documentary on The World’s Fattest Man. Half way through the show the reported started talking about his girlfriend. The Fattest Man in the world has a girlfriend. I’m 21 an have never had a girlfriend. FML“

Have you ever routed another’s life? I bet you have. Have you ever been routed? I bet you have. Have you ever routed yourself? I might right now. I probably deserve it. Its been months since I have posted on RYL. Just remember if you do rout anything, be fair, be honest, and MAKE THE CHANGE. Fuck “change,” the president’s slogan. FYI: I do not know what the man with the plan will do, or how he and the other power hungry egotistical individuals with him will handle his minimum 4 years. What I do know is we cannot judge him or his predecessor until after its said and done. After all in hindsight its usually 20/20 vision we see with, unless, and here is what I’m sayin: you blindly follow. Anyone or anything. Would you trust the wind-swept Mt. Katahdin in the darkest of black nights if you had never walked it or seen it? (P.S. it is a knife-ridge that is less than a handful of feet wide, its long, and a steep fall.) I wouldn’t. That being said, would you trust an individual who has proven nothing, other than they believe according to a certain political affiliation. We need not classify into dichotomies, we need not separate, we need not always follow. But sometimes we do, sometimes we have to. I will never knock someone for being human, I will however knock the individual who has “[t]he mind of a bigot [which] is like the pupil of the eye. The more light you shine on it, the more it will contract. Just as Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. pointed out, whoever the hell they are. Whats creepy about that is Al Franken’ statement that “[w]hen you encounter seemingly good advice that contradicts other seemingly good advice, ignore them both.” Or how “[disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.” As Tom Robbins pointed out. At the same time we also have- P. J. O'Rourke who noticed that “[a] little government and a little luck are necessary in life, but only a fool trusts either of them.” Think about it people. While it this is all real, not all of it is real. Which reminds me, “[l]anguage is the source of misunderstandings.” Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Bringing me to a final point that someone else already told you, L-O-V-E-L-I-F-E. As for routing myself, F that. Ya’ll don’t know me. But I don’t quite either. Maybe one day. Just keep yourself and those around you in check and balanced. Kinda like how are government is ‘supposed’ to. And if you care, just as Bette Midler before me, “I never know how much of what I say is true.” That brings to my mind too much confusion.

so i just read that our governor of california wants to tax veterinary visits. ahhh.. it’s a domesticated animal bra’. my dog costs plenty of upkeep already and provides no monetary return on my investment. while unconditional love is great.. you should probably look into other sources for state revenue. thanks!

here’s how to help: call up this number and push some digits so ah’nold will hear that you oppose this crap.

January 15, 2009 Budget Update:

Yesterday, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger presented his 2009-2010 “State of the State” address to the California State Legislature. This speech came on the heels of the release, on December 31, 2008, of his 2009-10 State Budget proposal which continued to include a proposal to tax veterinary services.

The Governor has expressed great frustration that, despite the fact that he has called several sequential “special sessions” of the legislature, a compromise has not been reached by Democrats and Republicans. In the last two weeks, there appears to be some movement with the negotiations. However, due to the sensitive nature of the discussions, and in an attempt to prevent outside forces from impacting the discussions, the “Big 5″ (Senate & Assembly leaders) has been relatively silent with regard to the specifics of the issues currently on the table.

With little information leaking out of these confidential “Big 5″ meetings regarding the Governor’s tax proposals, we must assume that the veterinary tax remains “on the table” for discussion. Therefore, we are requesting that CVMA members continue to express their opposition to the Governor’s proposal to tax veterinary services by calling the Governor and your local legislator today.

how to: fight dirty on new years – low tech defense

while i definitely do not endorse getting in fights as it leads to stupid crap like not being able to work and get paid, i have been in some legitimate fisticuffs in past few weeks. people that know me are aware that i always carry several items on my person that would be described as a “deadly weapon” besides my fists, though it’s best just to walk tall and avoid physical confrontation. but hey.. it’s new years eve and we’re going to party like it’s 1999! just a decade later. everyone i socialize with is making big plans to get off work early and start consuming the largest sum of alcohol in a year, black out before mid night, and ring in the new year by singing to terry. c’mon, it’s the “one night of the year when getting drunk and making a fool of yourself is not optional, but in fact mandatory.” so as people get drunk and heated, bearing witness to a drunken fight is not only possible.. it’s inevitable. if you find yourself cornered >3:1 because your bros are too busy gaming on some drunk BZs, this is how to protect yourself:

there are some possibly fatal flaws here.
1. there’s no way you’re going to have the time to adjust your powerman 5000 protective shades, so just man up and slam that bottle.
2. leave some booze in the bottle, trust me. it’s not a waste. if you have a full beer, just pound until about a quarter of it is left. it’ll help settle all that agro-adrenaline that’s pumping too. instead of resulting in a little shank, you’ll get a decent sized piece.
3. don’t get into a situation where you need to break a bottle, idiot. while i’m sure it’ll sound super tight at the time, just think about how totally sweet ringing in the new year by waking up in a jail cell with stitches will feel.
